Energy Storage Consultant

Are you confident and dynamic and interested in energy storage and power markets? Our consultants deliver feasibility and design studies, due diligence on storage projects, market analysis, storage planning and revenue analysis services. They also work with our innovation team, developing our innovative products for storage and microgrids. Do you enjoy working in the international energy storage market from small scale to grid scale?  With a collaborative approach, strong analytical and excellent communications skills, and a proven track record in winning new business, are you our next successful Energy Storage Consultant?

You will need a degree in engineering or science or several years’ experience as an Energy Storage Consultant, and exceptional report writing and presentation skills. You should understand energy storage technologies, current market trends, energy policy and the technical, commercial, and business potential of energy storage systems. You should be capable of analysing data streams and modelling and simulating storage systems delivering complex real-time services.

Senior Software Engineer

Our multi-disciplinary team of engineers and consultants brings a mix of ground-breaking R&D and product development, alongside independent advice, and trusted analysis. We would like to recruit a Senior Software Engineer to create, develop, design, and install innovative software solutions, and support and develop the software team.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with at least 5 years’ experience to work with our team, showing leadership in software development and skills in software solutions architecture. industry. Previous experience in the energy sector would be an advantage but is not essential. You should be able to take a project from its formative stages, be able to communicate with other project partners’ technical teams, to deliver a successful outcome.

Energy Engineering Analyst

We would also like to hear from you if you have experience in energy storage applications, engineering analysis, due diligence, electrical engineering project development or project management. We are also keen to hear from people with skills in business development, bid and proposal writing.

You could be an electrical engineer currently working in the power industry who is looking for a fresh and full-time challenge, or you might be returning to work after a career break and want to combine a challenging role with the flexibility to work 3 or 4 days per week.

We have a varied and interesting workload, covering all aspects of the energy storage industry – integration of storage with renewables, microgrids, local energy markets, and industrial and commercial installations. We develop novel products and services – and you will be part of a team solving problems, often with partners from other companies both in the UK and overseas.

Successful recruits will have excellent written communication skills, commercial awareness, and an ability to work with others at all levels; an interest in problem solving and demonstrate analytical thinking.

Software Developer & Engineering placements

Swanbarton Limited are offering paid internships for an undergraduate student with an interest in electrical engineering and energy storage. The placement will provide a variety of experience, working for clients within the power generation and battery storage industry and support our inhouse development of microgrid technology.

We have placements for individuals who share our vision for renewable and sustainable energy and who want to use their ideas and skills to make a difference to our environment, and to shape our consultancy services for the future, in the time they spend with us.

Whilst you don’t need a specific degree background to apply, you do need to be hardworking, with plenty of energy and motivated to develop your skills in electrical engineering and software development.

Software Developer Placement

We are looking for a candidate with the ability to manage large data sets and a high degree of ICT literacy, possibly with some knowledge of the electricity industry.

Salary £18,000

Placement Year (10-12 Months)

What you’ll do – you’ll get involved in virtually every stage of either developing new solutions or supporting and improving existing ones.

You will be working alongside developers and engineers who will be there to support, encourage and inspire you during your placement.

During your placement you will join in various projects.  This will help build your network as well as your skills and experience during your internship.

Skills required:

  • real tenacity for coding and programming
  • some experience of the following languages whether self-taught or through work experience e.g. Python Programming, Linux,
  • excellent written communication skills, combined with the ability to communicate with people at different levels
  • an interest in problem solving
  • analytical thinking
  • you should be committed to taking a year out to gain industry experience.
  • be in your penultimate year of your chosen degree and be authorised to work in the UK for the whole placement without sponsorship.

Engineering placement

We are recruiting a candidate with a strong knowledge of power engineering who is keen to develop their skills in the sustainable energy sector.

Salary £18,000

Placement Year (10-12 Months)

What you’ll do – You will support our team as we analyse projects for clients and develop our proprietary microgrid technology.

Skills required:

  • knowledge and interest in the electricity supply industry
  • motivation to develop power engineering skills in design and deployment of energy storage and microgrid solutions.
  • good analytical skills
  • excellent written communication ability
  • you should be committed to taking a year out to gain industry experience.
  • be in your penultimate year of your chosen degree and be authorised to work in the UK for the whole placement without sponsorship.
